Meet The Team

Nicole Tanner
TEAM LEADER, COMMERCIAL SPECIALIST
Nicole’s passion for investing in real estate began early in life as she watched her Dad develop raw land as a personal past-time, which taught her the value and return associated with vision, relationships, strategy and execution. Since then, her passion for real estate has shown up in almost every stage of her life, including taking on personal residential redevelopment projects and co-founding the family construction business.
Nicole’s expertise spans all aspects of Commercial Real Estate including transactions of all complexity in the areas of industrial, office, retail, multi-family, leasing and land development. The success of her team is built on a foundation of collaboration, a pursuit of knowledge, accountability and strategic execution.
Nicole has a degree in Chemistry, 15 years of Corporate Business experience in Sales, Training, Product Knowledge and Marketing and has owned, developed and invested in real estate since she was 22 years old. She is currently a candidate for her CCIM designation.

Nigel Beattie
Commercial Agent, Sale of Business Specialist
Nigel is the former President and COO of the largest Canadian quick-service chicken chain in Canada. He was instrumental in its growth to all regions of Canada and has international business experience in Europe, Asia, South America and The Caribbean.
After 30+ years in Senior Management roles, Nigel wanted to broaden his reach by helping others achieve their dream of owning their own business. As an active member of RECO he now enjoys helping clients find suitable businesses and locations in addition to providing a wealth of insight into the business world.
Nigel’s diverse roles throughout his career as an employee, manager, owner, franchisee, franchisor and franchise consultant have provided him with a unique perspective and unparalleled insight into commercial enterprises.
Nigel is the former Director of both the Canadian Franchise Association and the Chicken Farmers of Canada, and a former member of the Supply Management Group of the Canadian Restaurant and Food Services Association (now Restaurants Canada).
Nigel has called Durham Region home since his immigration from Northern Ireland and has strong ties to the business and community groups within the region.

Joanne Kuipers
Commercial Agent, Multi-Family Specialist
Joanne is a seasoned Landlord and Property Manager with extensive knowledge about the successful ownership, operation, and management of multi-residential properties.
With a deep-rooted understanding of the multi-residential industry, Joanne recognized an opportunity to share her knowledge by obtaining a license from the Real Estate Council of Ontario. Today, Joanne takes pleasure in utilizing her expertise to help clients discover the untapped potential in investment properties within the Durham Region and beyond.
Joanne’s passion for this pillar of the industry has also led her to become the President of the Durham Landlord Association, where she brings Landlords and Property Managers together monthly to network and provide relevant education to enhance their success.
Joanne is a passionate and engaged member of her community. In her spare time, she finds solace in practicing yoga, escaping to her cottage, and cherishing precious moments with her children and grandchildren.

Robin Hughes
Transaction & OPERATIONS Coordinator
Robin’s introduction to real estate began with childhood adventures exploring model homes with her Nana, igniting a spark that would shape her future. This passion was reignited when she studied Property Law in college for her Paralegal and Law Clerk degrees.
Robin dedicated over 6 years of her career as a Residential and Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk, gaining invaluable knowledge of the legal intricacies inherent in real estate transactions. However, her true calling emerged in the realm of Commercial Real Estate.
Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to broaden her horizons Robin joined the Reid James Commercial Team, where she seamlessly integrated her expertise, diligence, and shared values, earning her the honorary title of “the brains of the operation.”
Beyond her professional pursuits, Robin finds joy in exploring the wonders of the world, embarking on adventures, and cherishing quality time with her loved ones. Her passion for real estate, coupled with her zest for life, defines her journey as she continues to make a meaningful impact both personally and professionally.
Our Charity
The Reid James Tanner Memorial Golf Tournament started in 2010 with a simple mission; to give back to the hospital that gave Nicole precious time with her son, Reid, and to provide the same opportunity to other families in a similar position. Since then, the Reid James Tanner Memorial Fund has donated over $600,000 to the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at Toronto Sick Kids – All thanks to the generosity of our loyal sponsors, our team of volunteers and the community that has stood behind us since day one.
